Backyard Wedding

Happy Fall! We have been taking some time off, but last weekend got back in the swing of things!

A simple backyard wedding, the bride had a vision, and we just executed it. Although, I admit, the ribbon arbor was our idea!

Sigafoos Wedding!

Wow, yesterday was amazing, intense, and downright crazy! Big Bear had a total freak rain storm, which meant we were scrambling the entire afternoon. Talk about being on point! My crew was stellar, and we rolled with it.

Were there unhappy guests? Yes. Was it something my crew had control over? No. It was God and his weather 100%!!

In the end, everything tuned out lovely, Holly and Grant are married, and the cake & cookie bar was a major success! And the details Holly's parents pulled off, simply amazing. I've posted some of my pictures, but if you Instagram, I recommend searching hash tag #sigafooswedding for many more. (which brides, how awesome is it that you can make your own hashtag and have your guests post their photos??)

We did all the flowers, decor, cake, cookie bar (complete with perfect Macarons!), and ran the event. Te brides mother made the centerpieces, her father all the benches, the arbor, and the incredible stumps! (and e even made a custom one for the cake!!) Also we orchestrated the moving of the reception from outside to the front patio when it started raining!

If you want to have a mountain wedding, contact me! The brides parents own the house and the lot up there, and it's all prepared for a intimate ceremony/reception for 100 guests or less. It's stunning!!

So I leave you with a very picture heavy post.

Contact me for your event! Cake, flowers, event management, linens, and other things, we'll put together a package deal! I typically have a crew of 2-6 that are also there, and we handle everything. 760.812.0574 or adairweddings@gmail.com, and on Facebook, Adair Weddings

Cookies!

I have a rather large wedding this weekend, and in addition to flowers, decor, and cake, I'm throwing together a cookie bar, as favors for the guests to take home.

Mmmmm. So the menu is as follows:

Pumpkin Oatmeal Chocolate Chip
Peanut Butter No Bake
Chocolate Chip
Sugar Cookies
Snickerdoodles
French Macarons

These are the sugar cookies and the no bake ones. Sooo yummy!

Excited to share other goodies, this wedding cake is going to be amazing. I love it when a bride gives me free reign.

Cheers!

Burlap & Twine

Spending my Friday evening with burlap bags & twine in preparation for a wedding next weekend! I've actually taken the majority of this past week "off" for personal crafting time. I will post more about that another day. It's super exciting!!

And tomorrow I am going to scope out a location for a huge wedding in September.

Lots of exciting things going on around here!!!

Cheers!

Summer and Fall Weddings

Can you believe tomorrow is May 1st? I'm sitting here this morning working on contracts for fall & winter 2012 into 2013, and thinking "wow, the year is FLYING!". Not to mention all the orders I'm putting in this week for my summer weddings. Burlap & Lace anyone?

Yes, my summer. Lots of vintage, rustic-style events on the horizon. I've put in an order this morning for about 450yds of burlap, and seriously wonder if I should have ordered more. But I'm excited, I am cutting a custom burlap aisle runner, that I hope to be able to use as a rental afterwards *cross fingers*, and I will have burlap table runners (these I am seriously excited about!), burlap chair sashes (for mountain weddings, add in a wired pine cone on the back), and burlap bags to use for flower arrangements and to hang from trees.

And then lace. I'm hunting for the perfect lace pattern, I think a trip into LA is on the horizon, there's simply no where else in Southern California to hunt for fabrics. For any of you do-it-yourself brides, I highly HIGHLY recommend a trip into the Garment District of LA. A word of caution though. Please be careful shopping at the flower market though, they tend to sell non-wholesale clients their week+ old flowers. You think you are getting a good price, but they just won't hold up as well, specifically roses, peonies & other delicate flowers. Honestly, I really recommend you consult with a florist for your wedding flowers, at least for your bouquet. You would be surprised how inexpensive it can be, and how less stressed YOU will be!

A fun cake I have planned? Wood-grained fondant with "initials" carved. This particular bride, her father is making a custom stump to put the cake on (in addition to the hand-made benches & arbor for the ceremony! Now if I can get him to carve a bear.....), and so the idea to do wood-grain detail in fondant, it just seems to flow with the design.

So many other exciting things on the horizon this summer and fall. A wedding with a cotton candy machine, a custom cookie bar (I'm testing a new chocolate chip cookie recipe this week, I'm super excited about it!), candy bars, and rustic mountain/backyard weddings!

Do you need help planning your rustic mountain or backyard wedding? We can help! From finding that perfect location to making your backyard THE perfect location, from cake, flowers, rentals, decor and event-styling, & planning, we do it all. Call or email to set up your complimentary consultation! 760.812.0574 or adairweddings@gmail.com

Have a fabulous last day of April and first week of May! Our weather here in Southern California is going to be gorgeous!!

Cheers!

Design inspirations

I found all these fun pieces at Ross a couple weeks ago. I think they could make some very interesting centerpieces for a rustic or mountain wedding. (okay, I don't "think", in reality I know they would!!)

Lots of exciting things this weekend, looks like we are double booked! Exciting times!!!

Cheers!
